Jazz Cafe at the Movies, November 14th 2015

Yet another storming success for Jazz Café, this time At the Movies and if you were there then you know all about it.

As a result of the evening's success, we were able to present a cheque for £500 to Lostwithiel Community Centre Deveopment Fund at their AGM.

Tickets for a full house sold out at the Church Rooms which was atmospherically lit by a number of strategically placed standard lamps from the Hospice Shop, these were subsequently sold at the end of the evening in support of Hospice South West.

All profits from the evening will be donated to Lostwithiel Community Centre development fund, Cornwall Hospice South West and Breast Cancer UK.

Excitement was in abundance with two sets by the fabulous Michelle Saacks Trio, featuring Lostwithiel Favourite Nathan Fitzgerald on trumpet and new boy Jamie Fyffe on drums.

The special joint event with Lost In Film was part of the Cornwall Film Festival.

The evening kicked off with an award winning half hour documentary titled The International Sweethearts of Rhythm. This was followed by two silent films one being a black and white Buster Keaton movie followed by the risqué dance sequence from the 1920's movie Metropolis. Only Michelle could have provided the sound track to these two films in such a nostalgic and unique way.
